G36 BASE TAKEN FROM SETH 45
TAKEN WITH PERMISSION
So, here`s my most recent one...
Based upon the G36 model from the Doom movie, i´ve created something more original out of it, with a dual stage sabot-flechette projectile of a 6,8x54mm caliber, especially designed for this rifle.
The rifle itself has a 5x magnification sight as well as the red dot unit, as standard for the Bundeswehr, a visible laser pointer, a strong UV-flashlight under the muzzle, XM8 style controls, a match handgrip and a precision style straight trigger.

Discarding sabot rounds are better for higher-calibre weapons, not general assault rifles; the miniscule size of the resulting projectile would cause it simply to pass through a target instead of inflicting more serious wounds.
What would be interesting is weapon that uses chemical cell cartridges in nearly the same manner as a regular rifle, except the cartridges power a solenoid which fires iron slugs at near-hypersonic velocities.
No, I do not recommend building such a weapon since the cartridges, if they "leak," could make a sizable crater where your mountain base once was (let alone your ammo dump).
